From the subway, Bellas Artes station, as you go up the stairs to the exit, you can see it right in front of you. Imposing, beautiful, grandiose, "the palace".
Some facts:
- Porfirio Díaz had it built
- Construction began in 1904 and was inaugurated in 1934
- It has 17 mural paintings of the 3 Mexican muralises: Siqueiros, Orozco and Rivera.
- Headquarters of the National Symphony Orchestra
- Architect: Adamo Boari
- Capacity 1677 people
- The curtain with the image of the Popo and Izta of crystals made by the house Tiffany weighs 24 tons
You have good visibility from any point however you will likely require binoculars if you are at high points.
Do not forget to see the different types of marble that adorn its walls and turn to the ceiling, you will be surprised.
Tip: In between scenes, people from the upper floors take places lower that were left empty.
The Palace houses the National Museum of Architecture where you will find models and plans of the palace that will allow you to see details that you could not see visiting it.
On the ground floor, tickets are bought, you will find the bookstore, cafeteria and others. When you go up, you can permanently enjoy the murals of the 3 Mexican muralists Siqueiros, Orozco and Rivera as well as temporary exhibitions that you can follow with the ARTGUIDE App where you will listen to the explanations of the works you are seeing.
I share some photos of temporary exhibitions and events I have attended:

Whether you have listened to a concert, seen an opera, enjoyed the ballet, enjoyed a storyteller, asked a writer, visited the murals or just entered to enjoy the palace, I recommend you have a coffee in the cafeteria of the palace or at the exit, in the Sears building, on the 8th floor, take it in Don Porfirio and you will see The Palace in all its splendor.
